Johan Frenzel

1839

Johann Frenzel (1786-?) lived and worked in Linz, Austria, but we have no details of his life and only a very few of his instruments have survived. One of his pianofortes can be found in the Carolino Augusteum Museum in Salzburg.

The piano on display here is a relatively late model (dated 1839 on the lower part of the pinblock) and is built like a modern piano, but has nevertheless kept the moderator, operated by the central pedal.
