The Foundation
The Masiero and Centanin Music Foundation, established in 1997, is based in Arquà Petrarca in the Euganean Hills in the province of Padua.
The purposes of the Music Foundation are pursued through:
- The organization of Classical Music Concerts in Arquà Petrarca in Villa Centanin headquarters of the Foundation, in Padua and in the Veneto region. Special attention is paid to Early Music and the classical and romantic repertoire with period instruments;
- The promotion ofthe concert activity of the Orchestra delle Venezie conducted by Giovanni Angeleri;
- The management of the Museum of Antique Pianos, dedicated to the Fortepiano, Tangentenflugel and Romantic piano. Alongside fortepianos by Stein and Walter are a number of Pleyel, Erard, Boesendorfer, Broadwood, Streicher, and other specimens from Franco Angeleri‘s Collection of Ancient Instruments, other private Collections, and instruments that have come to the Foundation as donations. A section of the Museum includes piano precursors and instruments of special shapes and structures, such as table pianos, tafelklavier, square pianos, Cabinet pianos, Lyra pianos, cabinet pianos, etc.
- The School of Music, based in the architectural complex of Villa Centanin in Arquà Petrarca, which includes, in addition to instrumental learning, courses in Musical Propaedeutics;
- Musical Instrumental Perfection Courses with special reference to Early Music, and performance and interpretation methods with historical instruments;
- Musical Instrumental Training Courses;
- Research related to editions, musical recordings, historical records, and ancient musical instruments;
- Publishing and recording activities;
- Recovering andrestoring historic fortepians and pianos, and consulting on them;
- Disbursement of Scholarships in the name of Maria Margherita Masiero and Giulia and Orazio Centanin.
