Gabriel Buntebart belongs to a group of German piano builders who emigrated to England during the Seven Years’ War and went down in history as the “Twelve Apostles”. Together with Zumpe, he is considered among the initiators of the piano building tradition in England.
He was a close friend of Johann Christian Bach and he was among the pallbearers at the great musician’s funeral.
