Vincenzo Maltarello

1867

Inscription: Vincenzo Maltarello in Vicenza n. 158

Vincenzo Maltarello (Rovigo 1831-1907) built his first instrument in 1852 and from then on he dedicated himself entirely to the construction of pianos, an activity that earned him prestigious awards at exhibitions in Italy and Europe. He became official provider to the Royal Household and his instruments were also exported overseas. Arturo Toscanini was among his most fervent admirers. At the end of the 19th century, the glorious “Vincenzo Maltarello” house could no longer hold its own against competition from French and German factories and ceased activity.
