Anonimo
Svezia seconda metà XIX sec.

Square pianos were built and became widespread until the end of the 19th century achieving dimensions and sonority similar to those of grand pianos.
The present specimen, with its imposing structure, is fitted with a massive cast-iron plate in a single casting, serving both ornamental and structural reinforcement functions. Also made of cast-iron is the pedalboard, equipped with a single pedal for raising the dampers.
Comparison with other exemplars of the period, its construction characteristics, and the use of certain materials, suggests that it belongs to the Swedish production area.
