Together with his son Giorgio, Luigi Hoffer worked in Venice between the end of the 18th century and the first decades of the 19th century. His first works were signed Ludwig Hoffer, clearly testifying to his transalpine origins. While some table pianos by this author are preserved, this instrument is the only existing grand piano of which we have any knowledge. The sound, like its aesthetic appearance, is linked to a period preceding the year of construction.<\/p>\n
